The heavy-duty flap valve pump is a pump specifically designed for handling solid particulate media. It is particularly suitable for solid particles close to the pipe size, suspended materials, abrasive materials, and high-viscosity and high-density materials. This series of heavy-duty pumps uses a top-inlet, bottom-outlet discharge method, providing a better suction lift than conventional pneumatic diaphragm pumps. It can transport fluids containing solids without damaging the pump. The flap valve design allows particles to pass smoothly without clogging, with a maximum throughput of up to 75mm, theoretically 1” (25mm)-3” (75mm).
Flap valve pumps play a vital role in fishpond dredging, especially in aquaculture. They effectively remove silt and residual feed from the bottom of the pond, preventing major problems such as reduced feed utilization, thinning of the water layer, decreased dissolved oxygen levels, and large-scale outbreaks of fish diseases.

When choosing to use a valve pump for fishpond dredging, it is necessary to select an appropriate flushing pressure and impact method based on the soil type and silt properties of the fishpond. For example, when removing silt or mud from the bottom of the pond, the flushing pressure is generally 3.5 kg per square centimeter; when removing undisturbed loess, 5 kg per square centimeter is required; and when removing compacted clay or undisturbed fine sand, 7.5 kg per square centimeter is required.
The use of flap valve pumps can greatly reduce project costs, improve work efficiency, and ensure water quality and aquaculture yield in fish ponds.
